Naturopathy is a holistic traditional alternative medicine approach to healing, health and wellbeing. It is a holistic natural health modality, which means it focusses on the body as a whole (rather than just the symptoms) to address the cause of ill health. In Naturopathy, it is believed that the body has its own inherent ability to bring itself back into balance when the obstacles and disturbing factors that are lowering the body’s vitality are removed.

Naturopathic treatment can involve a number of different avenues such as diet, lifestyle, counselling, herbal medicine, nutritional supplementation, flower essence therapy and hydrotherapy. Practitioners also draw on evidence from scientific research, clinical experience and traditional knowledge to provide treatment options to best suit individual clients.

Common conditions which can be treated by Naturopathy include:

  • Weight loss
  • Fatigue
  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Female reproductive issues
  • Autoimmune conditions
  • Adrenal and thyroid conditions
  • Diabetes
  • Gastrointestinal system conditions

There are six main Principles of Naturopathy which underpin the main philosophies that we, as naturopaths, believe in. There is also the Naturopathic Therapeutic Order that we follow. Click here to read about them.
